An Arizona Story - documentary

An Arizona Story is a compelling documentary that delves into the making of the short film Lady Doctor, inspired by true events from Arizona in 1912 during the women’s suffrage movement. The film follows Flora Yount, a devoted wife and mother, as she defies societal expectations to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor in a world that limits women’s aspirations.

The documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at the production of Lady Doctor, featuring interviews with the producer, director, key crew members, cast, and extras. It highlights the journey of the screenplay’s writer, an autistic individual, who crafted this powerful story and collaborated with Jeff Lane to bring it to life. The narrative celebrates the remarkable effort of 108 people from across Arizona who came together, mostly as volunteers, to create the film.

Beyond the filmmaking process, An Arizona Story sheds light on Arizona's rich and underexplored history, while also emphasizing the incredible potential of autistic individuals when given the opportunity to excel in their fields of interest.
